A Tale of Monochromatics: Series 2

Part two in our series on monochromatics has us seeing everything in greens and grays! Just because you’re rocking one colour does not mean your look will be boring! Check out how we werk these monochromes to make them sizzle and pop!

I know everyone is flinging themselves into spring, but if you’re only looking for spring looks, you’re missing out on taking advantage of a great opportunity! What opportunity you may ask? SALES!!! While spring pieces are coming in hot to the stores and on-line, fall and winter pieces are on mega markdown!

The name of the game here is markdowns, markdowns, markdowns! Now is the time when I’m able to scoop up those pieces that were a little too rich for my blood when they firs hit the stores in fall and winter. This beautiful dress is one I watch for months waiting for it to go on sale. It was released in winter, but is perfect for spring too. Sheer, with a slip dress underneath to hide your lady bits, it works year-round, and right now, it’s on sale baby and it’s mine! Of course, it can be yours too!

Here I decided to add a different belt, remove the slip lining and rock it with pants, but this dress can easily stand all on its own!

Now y’all, let’s turn our attention to this coat! Light weight, great puffer detail and, you got it, ON SALE! I love this coat as it comes with a belt so that I can cinch my waist giving me a little extra shape. I also really love that it is warm, but not heavy so definitely one I can wear doing errands and not feel weighted down. And since winter comes around every year, no matter how much I may try to wish it away, I will have a great new coat for next winter (fingers crossed I won’t have to break it out before November, but we all know that spring in Canada can sometimes be disrespectful!lol

These high waisted, khaki pants are on mega markdown! The fit is great, super comfortable and give this look a little extra visual interest while keeping things in the colour family. I love that they are light-weight enough to be worn year round and are a classic enough style that means I can rock them for years to come!

Add a belt and some gold boots and this monochrome look is far from boring! I’d say it’s pretty freaking fantastic, but well, I’m biased cause I bought them!;-)

All in all, while we’ve got our eye on spring, we’re not forgetting that now is a great time to invest in some great fall/winter pieces that are currently marked down because, winter is always coming!

Gail – “the Gray Lady”

Slip dress: Aliexpress (sold out) similar here //Sweater: Boohoo Plus // Cardigan: Reitmans (old) similar here //

For my straight sizes sisters: Dress or Dress // Cardigan // Sweater

I’m comin in hot with another slip dress, this time in a silver gray colour. The dress, which I got in a 3X, features spaghetti straps, a cowl neckline and just gently flows over my curves.

Although we’ve stepped into Spring, it can still be on the chilly side so, I’ve added a light weight v-neck sweater to this look along with a cardigan. If I get a little over heated, off comes the cardigan and I’ll still be comfy and cozy with the v-neck sweater. Layering is the name of the game my friends, the name of the game!

To complete my look I added some simple accessories in the form a silver double strand necklace, earrings and bracelets, capped of my white pumps. Et voila!

And that’s the long and short of it.

Gail & Leslie xoxo
