Gail is Giving Us Life With…

Winter is coming…ok, its not quite here yet but its on the horizon. You may be thinking, and rightfully so, that it’s time to pack away those sun dresses and but don’t you do it…at least not yet.

Dress: Boohoo Plus // Sandals: Zara // Pants: Lane Bryant (sold out) similar here // Jacket: Reitmans (old) similar here //

For my tall girls here are some options for you: Dress // Jacket // Pants

So I did a lot of gallivanting in this dress over the summer. I wore shopping, going to the movies and brunching and lunching with friends on the weekend. I absolutely go my money’s worth when I purchased this dress.

This faux wrap dress (I’m wearing a size 20) features a flutter detail found at the neckline, collar as well as the hem. The dress also has a lot of stretch so you don’t feel confined or restricted.

Onto the remix…so, now that the air is ever so slightly cooler its time to remix this look for fall. I added these white wide leg pants (yes, you can wear white after Labour Day) that I’m wearing in a size 24 and are from Lane Bryant.

They do have stretch but the material is still very structured. Next I added this black tailored jacket to complete my office wear look.

Romper: Zara // Skirt: Top Shop // Coat: Top Shop (old, similar here) // Shoes: Lilac sandals: Office (sold out, similar here, here); Polka dot pumps: Aldo (sold out similar here, here) // Strip Clutch: Kaela Kay // Black Clutch: Uterque (old, similar here)// Belt with Romper: Zara (sold out, similar here) // Belt with Skirt: House of CB //

For my plus size perfect babes: Romper // Skirt // Coat //

The air is tinged with the hint of cooler weather to come and I know I’m not really trying to haul out all my winter clothes just yet. That’s why I’ve been taking my summer pieces and just “repurposing” them for fall!:-) One of my favourite pieces this summer was this gorgeous polka dot print romper!

This bad boy is super comfortable and I love that it shows off my gams! Here is yet another example of how black and white pieces are beginning to take over my wardrobe! But when they look like this, who can resist.

A huge pro to wearing black and white is that you can match basically any colour with it to give your outfit a little pop! For this summer look, I decided to rock my romper with a touch of lilac in my shoes and lipstick!

Now, as I mentioned, I am not trying to invest heavily in a fall wardrobe. What I am trying to do is see what I have in my closet that can transition to fall, and this romper fit the bill! It’s got versatility in spades! By rocking this beautiful pleated polka dot skirt over the romper and adding a coat, I’m already feeling my internal temperature take off!

Switch out my sandals for some pumps that pop and I’ve created a polka dot sensation! I love the repeated polka dot in the “top”, skirt and pumps because I think it gives me just that little bit of “extraness” I love.  Also, polka dot was a HUGE trend for spring summer, but just because the season changes doesn’t mean you gotta discard your dots!

Rounding out the printed perfection of this look is the checked coat. The perfect pieces to keep the brisk breezes at bay. Still light weight enough so that you don’t feel too hot, but when the sunsets, you have an extra barrier against the drop in temp.

As the temperature continues to cool, you can change the pumps to boots, the romper to a sweater and you are still good to go!

So, the moral of the story is, don’t pack away those summer duds just yet! Remix them so that you stay warn, save a buck or two, and lookfreaking fabulous doing it!

And that’s the long and short of it!
