Leslie’s Twinning Like…

When I was a kid, I always wished I had a twin. Instead, being the baby sister, I usually just found myself trailing after Gail trying to copy everything she did. Now that we’re all “growed-up”, it’s awesome when we can find pieces that are similar to create the same look so that we can be winning while twinning!
I love this look! While it may be blingy, it feels effortless. We both scooped up these gorgeous gold sequin pleated midi skirts from Anthropologie in 2019! It was one of those pieces that I just knew I needed in my closet. And when that sale came around, cause you know I love a sale, I scooped it up with the quickness!
I love wearing a fancy piece with something more casual. So for this look, it was easy to throw on a great graphic t-shirt to dress it down. While I could have rocked it with sneakers, because believe you me, I’m about that sneaker life these days, I wanted to add another print to the look. That print took the form of my fave leopard print stilettos!
Because fall is in the air, and I have no cold tolerance, I knew I would need another layer to block those breezes. This gorgeous, black, double-breasted blazer fit the bill to a “T”. Not only is it a perfect shield from the cold, its simple silhouette rounds out the outfit making it look perfectly pulled together.
Ok, now to the really fun bit. The accessories! So, I won’t lie; Gail purchased the glasses I’m wearing, and when she showed them to me, I basically confiscated them!lol They went so perfectly with this outfit that you would think I styled the outfit around them, rather than around the skirt. They are the epitome of FIERCE.
But moving along; this necklace is another one of my faves. I feel like it’s a modern version of those chains from back-in-the-day that you might see Run DMC rocking! Then, because I wanted to be bling heavy, I added my African continent shaped gold earrings! YASSS!!!! Bring the bling baby! A simple silver and gold charm bracelet completed the frosting, while this beautiful Alexander Wang bag with gold studded bottom completed the overall look!
Here’s to winning while twinning!
Gail be twinnin and winnin like…
Blazer: Fashionnova (old) similar here // Tshirt: Dopeciety // Skirt: Anthropologie (old) similar here // Pumps: Nine West (old) similar here // Sunglasses: eBay //Handbag: Michael Kors (old) similar here
We’re definitely twinning and winning in this look. I love when Leslie and I can create “twin” looks because it speaks to the fact that the fashion options for plus size women have opened up significantly.
But just for a moment I want to draw your attention to to the t shirts we’re wearing. My tshirt which, features a Dan mask with fulani earrings, is from the incredibly talented creators behind Dopeciety.
Now on to the rest of the look. “This girl is on FIRE!”, (thank you for that line Alicia Keys) because of this skirt.
Sequins are not just for night time ladies, you can definitely bring this beauty out to play for a fun day time look. I then added a fun printed shoe and handbag for extra spiciness.
And that’s the long & short of it!
Gail & Leslie xoxo
