Faux Leather Or Faux Worse

Oooh, yes yes y’all, and we don’t stop! That’s our big tune for this post! We’ve gone gaga for faux leather and monochromatic looks! Leather and faux leather are huge trends for spring that big or small, short or tall, look good on every body! But, in the words of Le Var Burton, “you don’t have to take my word for it”. Check this out!

Smurfette ain’t got nothin’ on me y’all! This look is about saturated colour, cool prints and fun textures. Sometimes I just like to be over the top, and this look speaks to the woman inside of me that is just a lil “extra”!

I wanted to incorporate a little bling, some faux leather, a textured coat and printed thigh-high boots! I love this look because it takes monochromatic looks to a new level! This outfit allows you to be lazy (i.e. all one colour) yet look like you were trying even if you weren’t!

So let me break down the detail son this look for you. This sequin top is actual a knit sequin mini dress that I scooped up from Zara. Perfect as a dress or top and works for a night on the town in winter (as I did this past December) or a nice dinner with your peeps. This skirt has a bit of stretch in it which is great and I actually spiced it up in the “Petite” section from ASOS. You tall slim ladies, even with my long torso this skirt worked for me. I’m only 5ft9, but I love where the hemline hits me and the price was right!

Now, these boots….oooohhh!!!! I went on a virtual pilgrimage for these bad boys! They are a printed material from Zara and go all the way up to my upper thigh. I took a size 10 in them so the thigh part is a bit loose, but I love them dam m boots and I wear them till they die!LOOOOL  All in all an easy look that makes me feel fabulous, and nothing beats an outfit that makes you feel good!!!!

I told y’all before that the snake print trend wasn’t going any where so when I saw this snake print trench on the ASOS website I snatched it up with the quickness.

I added this cognac coloured faux leather skirt and I feel like it picks up tones found in the snake print. The skirt is a figure hugging pencil style and features a paper bag waist with belt. The skirt does not have any stretch so definitely make sure to consult the size chart to get the correct size.

I completed the look by adding a simple tank top in a neutral colour and copper coloured heels and I’m good to go!

Coat: ASOS Curve sold out (similar here ) // Skirt: Pretty Little Thing in black to go with the alternate snake print coat // Tank: Old Navy sold out (similar here //

And that’s the long and short of it,

Gail & Leslie xoxo
