Our dream is to be able to walk into the same clothing store and find sizes for both straight and plus size women alike. Yes, we are starting to see many more options on line, but a brick and mortar store is a bit trickier to find. Then “in walks” Anthropologie at the Shops at Don Mills here in our very own city; Toronto! Yes, ladies you can shop the straight and plus size collection at this location, and the staff are ridiculously nice and extremely helpful! We went ham selecting some of our favourite styles to highlight for spring/summer. So much so that we’ll be doing a series to showcase our must-haves for your summer closet!
Leslie’s Orange Obsession!
Dress: Anthropologie // Purse: Anthropologie // Shoes: Zara // Earrings: Zara //
Plus size babes Anthropologie’s got you covered as this dress is available in both straight and plus sizes!
This beautiful orange baby is the perfect dress for summer. I could wear it everyday all day and not get tired of it. Comfortable = check, super cute = check, check, easy to wear = triple check!
The print and colour are both bold and beautiful making me feel summery and feminine all at the same time. The dress does not come with a belt, so you can opt to wear it loosely for a more relaxed feel, which works so well for me for when we can begin to go out to brunches again! You can also wear this dress with a belt as I did here, giving it a bit of an upgrade to something a little dressier. I also love that the shoulder straps are adjustable so you can fix them such that they give you the best fit for your shoulders and bust.
That said, I really love that I can upgrade my dress and rock it with heels and accessories, accessories, accessories, or I can wear it more casually with my fave flat sandals and even a denim jacket and I still look pulled together and ready to take on the sunshine!
Speaking of accessories, this circle bag is the perfect accessory for this dress. It can be worn cross body so you have your hands free when running those errands or worn without the strap if you prefer to hold it in your hand. Holding it in my hand always seems a bit dressier to me….am I the only one that thinks this way? Maybe!LOL
All in all, let’s just say that this is exactly the kind of dress I can see myself wearing to while away those dog days of summer!
Gail – Island Getaway Vibes
Dress: Anthropologie // Purse: Anthropologie (sold out) similar here // Sandals: Shoe Dazzle (old) similar here //
Belt: Additional Elle
This orange dress confection is giving me La Isla Bonita vibes. Remember that old school pop song from Madonna, Tropical the island breeze
All of nature wild and free
This is where I long to be
La isla bonita
Well this dress has me dreaming of an island getaway, sipping on cool and tasty tropical drinks and enjoying tropical breezes.
I love wearing dresses. You just put them on add some cute shoes and accessories and you’re good to go. Leslie pretty much said everything that needs to say about this dress but there is one thing I want to speak to. This dress doesn’t come with a belt so its “loosely goosey” if you will.
I know that in the past I’ve shied away from wearing loose fitting garments or if I do I’ve felt as though I need to cinch in my waist because I’m concerned that it will make me look bigger. It took time for me to move away from that idea because it simply doesn’t serve me. Fashion is supposed to be fun and a way to express yourself -period!
And that’s the long and short of it!
