Kaela Kay and I go way back; like babies and pacifiers type of way back! Ok, I may be exaggerating about the babies & pacifiers, but I’ve been a huge fan of this brand for years now. I first started stalking, I mean following the brand on Instagram and then began heading out to pop-up shops around Toronto where I knew their pieces would be available for purchase. And man-oh-man have I purchased!LOL Not only are the creations beautiful and unique, the owner/designer Catherine Addai is an amazingly talented and charming woman. Now that she has a permanent store in Toronto and I can have access to her pieces almost any day of the week, I’m lucky I have any money at all!LOL
Producing fully size inclusive collections, Kaela Kay is one of the few brands where I can shop with all my girls and we always find something we love! With the pandemic still looming over us like a dark cloud, it’s understandable that we are not all ready to run out and buy a whole new wardrobe. That said, now is the time to shop smart and really invest in quality pieces that will last and can mix-and –match with what you are already working with in your closet.
That was the name of the game for me with the Aria top and the Amy tulle skirt. This outfit is actually available as a dress. However,thinking strategically, or should I say “pandemically” I opted to go for the separate top and skirt allowing for endless versatility!
